Details, including syllabi, of all ECB ACO Umpiring Courses (although physical venues are not yet open for booking) can be found at https://www.ecb.co.uk/be-involved/officials/find-a-course/Umpiring-courses .  .

We particularly recommend “Online Basics of Umpiring” course.  this course is designed to provide you with all the skills needed to start umpiring. The course covers the basics, especially for those players who are required to umpire fior 5 or 10 overs.  Even if you are an expert umpire, this is a useful short refresher course

Anyone completing Stage One Umpiring (or Club Scorer Course) is entitled to Associate Membership of ECB ACO.  Once you have completed the course, download the membership form here and return it to ecbaco@ecb.co.uk   We would appreciate you completing the Direct Debit but no money will be taken before January next year (and you should receive a reminder before then).  If you are 16 or over, then we shall need to do the simple DBS checks.

NB: ECB would like ALL regular umpires (and scorers) to hold a DBS Certificate as they may be involved with children for several hours.  Please check with your Club’s Welfare Officer.  By Regular, we mean controlling four or more matches per month, including both adult and youth matches.

There is also Laws of Cricket Online Learning at https://laws.lords.org/login/index.php .  create account”.

Guides to Duckworth Lewis.

Umpire Stage One E-learning - this course is designed to give an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. This course is an ideal introduction for new club umpires, a refresher for existing umpires and the first step for those who aspire to umpire at higher levels. Click here to register.
